Must see/do things Memorial Day Weekend :) 1st trip.

this is our first trip ..... we are staying 5/22 - 5/25 at the Intercontinental. We have a Duck Tour and Red Sox game scheduled but nothing else - please help w/ must/do see things during our trip. Early 30%26#39;s/no children - we love ';touristy'; things and shopping. Thanks!!

Apologies to TA however --- I was going to recommend you check out the Things To Do link first, but in doing so myself was surprised to see what the #1 thing to do is.

So in my own opinion I suggest the following in no particular order: Freedom Trail, walk around Beacon Hill, Swan Boats, Public Garden, meal in the North End, meal in the South End, walk down Newbury Street, visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace. If its rainy and you like museums -- Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Gardner Museum.

For shopping there is:

Newbury Street -- mostly high-end small shops.

Copley Place Mall - ';high-end'; mall including places like Neiman Marcus, Tiffany.

Prudential Center Mall (connected to Copley Place mall by glassed-in walkway) -- more of a mid priced mall, anchored by Lord %26amp; Taylor and the pricier Saks.

Charles Street -- quaint, including antique shops.

Downtown Crossing -- outdoor shopping district, a little rough around the edges as it awaits some stalled-due-to-the-credit crunch redevelopment. Includes Macy%26#39;s, H%26amp;M.

Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market -- very touristy souvenier kiosks, various shops including now unfortunately a number of chains. Huge indoor food court with mostly local offerings.

Harvard Square -- many shops. Has also been invaded by chains. Harvard Coop is good for books, Harvard sweatshirts/souveniers.
