Maybe too picky? Looking for romantic cape lodging...

Needing some help with accomodations for a 1-night stay (part of the problem, but no choice) May 30 to celebrate our anniversary - leaving the kids with grandparents for the night (reason for 1 night stay). Looking to go no farther than mid-cape, hoping to find something oceanfront with in room fireplace. Did check Chatham Bars Inn and Ocean Edge - considered Red Jacket resorts but no fireplace. Possibly Fort Hill B%26amp;B but their cottage is not on the ocean. Willing to pay $400/night....Any other thoughts? Usually we have the kids so I%26#39;m not used to searching with this set of criteria (fireplace rooms + my kids = disaster). Restaurant recommendations are much appreciated (we may go back to the ocean house, which we always enjoy). Thanks!

CBI or Wequassett - hands down. I would prefer Wequassett over CBI for the romance factor. I also prefer the food at Wequassett.

They have rooms with fireplaces outside and I believe inside too. You may be stuck booking two nights - just eat the difference. It will be worth it.

Hope that helps!

Enjoy.

YES to Wequasset and dinner at 21 Atlantic...RUN and make your res..

I love Ocean House as well but 21 Atlantic is a step above the rest..Wequassett is sublime...IMHO Red Jacket and OE cannot even come close to comparing. My 17 year old has known she wants to get married at Wequassett since she was 12 and we had tea there..or maybe she was 10...

:)

Wequassett. That%26#39;s where you%26#39;ll want to be:

WOW! I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ve ever seen such a consensus on a forum before! I took your advice and emailed Wequassett but the cheapest fireplace room they have is $560, which is beyond our budget of $400 - and that room does not even include water views! Any other budget friendly recommendations?

Thanks again for all the help!

CBI, on quikbook, has rooms for your one night stay for $295.00. It%26#39;s a standard room. Give them a call and see what they%26#39;ll do for an upgrade. Wouldn%26#39;t hurt to ask. (I wonder what you get for another $105.00?!)

If you have to make a compromise, this would be something you could def. live with. Give CBI a call and tell them you found this great rate on quikbook and see what they%26#39;ll offer you. Ask for a waterview or waterfront room and see what they say. Worth a shot.

What a terrific idea! You all are a tremendous help and wealth of knowledge (as always)! I will report back and let you know how I make out!

One more!

Orbitz has some crazy deals going. They have rooms at Ocean Edge for $119.00! Check it all out here:

Take a look at www.whalewalkinn.com It has a spa and rooms with fireplaces. Prices are within your budget.

It%26#39;s in Eastham just over the ';border'; with Orleans.

Some friends rented a cottage there many years ago but I have no personal knowledge of the present setup. You could go to the Captain Linnell House in Orleans for dinner.

Do you like Thai food? There%26#39;s a great little place in Patriot Square in Dennis.
