3 day visit to boston

Hi all

i am wondering if anyone can help me. I am planing a ski trip to Killington in February 2010. I am planning on staying in Boston on our 1st day and then drive to killington. And then we plan on staying in boston for the last two days of ou trip. Can anyone let me know if Wrentham shopping outlet is en route to killington from Boston. Or would i be best to take a day to go shopping from boston. also can anyone suggest good shopping malls in boston itself and where best for us to stay on our 3 days in boston.

Would be grateful for anyone%26#39;s help.

Wrentham is in the totally opposite direction (southwest versus north). However, there are outlets in the North Conway area of New Hampshire, which is on your way.

thanks for that. As you will notice totally relying on the sat nav to get us from Boston to Killington. Think we will take a trip down to Wrentham anyway as it would be worth the trip.

North Conway, NH will be totally out of your way but the outlets in Tilton NH might be an option but still a little out of the way. If you go to Wrentham it will be 45 minutes without traffic in the opposite direction but from there to Killington you can go on Route 495 and it will save you a little time instead of going back to Boston. You also might be interested in stopping at The Mall of Rockingham in Salem, NH (NH is tax free) it is on your way from Massachusetts to Kellington, VT.

What type of stores are you interested in?

Thanks Remay.

Think i will be taking a trip to Rockington Mall.

And Wrentham. Like the typical ambercombie, holister, nike, timberland, tommy and polo. so I should be sorted between Wrentham and Rockington.

Thanks. Can you advise what is a must see in boston while we are there for 2 days.

February is not the best time to visit Boston since it is cold and snowy but I would try to do the Freedom Trail as best as you can in the cold. It would probably best to take a trolley tour. Visit the USS Constitution and have dinner at the North End. Take a stroll down Newbury Street and Charles Street. You can go shopping at Copley Place and The Prudential Center. Discount stores on Boylston St include Filene%26#39;s Basement and Marshall%26#39;s.

Do you like Museums? The Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Gardner Museum are worth a visit. I like the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) it is fairly small and take less than an hour to see all the current exhibits. Go ice skating on Frog Pond. A drink at the Top of the Hub is nice anytime of year. I am sure others on this forum will add their ideas.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all your advice. I have plenty of time to get organising. What are the normal temperatures for boston in February.

Just keep in mind, February in New England can be tricky.

Come down during a blizzard, and you won%26#39;t be driving to Killington.

As for the outlets....over-rated and a waste of time IMO.

Normal temperatures in Boston for February are 20%26#39;s and 30%26#39;s (Farenheit). It could be colder or somewhat warmer. Snow is common, including big snow storms. But, then again some years we have very little snow. We never know for sure.
