I was hoping I could get some suggestions for a nice place to stay on the Cape with my wife for the weekend (pre-Memorial Day). I hate to be picky but in searching online, I see a lot of various motels, but nothing that inspires us. (If the weather is bad, I don%26#39;t want to have to sit on our bed and watch TV.) I%26#39;m also looking for something reasonably priced (under $150/night). One last thing, we%26#39;re not really into the whole B%26amp;B thing....I guess I%26#39;m anti-social.
As far as locations go, we just want something that is not over-run by kids (we%26#39;re leaving ours at home), and is close to some town center where we can eat/shop.
Are there any comfortable lodges or other accommodations that would be appropriate for us?
Thanks.

I am sure you can find lots of owners that will rent you a two or three night minimum stay in a vacation rental - that way you have space to spread out and can have coffee in the mornings etc
Of course really nice is CBI and Wequasett Inn for a luxury getaway

If CBI and Wequasset aren%26#39;t offering specials right now, they%26#39;ll both be out of the budget. Travelzoo had great rates for CBI, but they%26#39;re sold out now.
You might try these cottages.

I think they%26#39;re grand. They%26#39;re in Eastham, so no real town center, but traffic isn%26#39;t a problem on the Cape this time of year. The National Seashore is right there and you%26#39;re near Provincetown in one direction and Orleans and Chatham in the other. Anyway, they%26#39;re in the budget and they%26#39;re cute.
I%26#39;d take a look at Falmouth lodging too. Or Sandwich lodging. I would have suggested Chatham (you might check out the Cranberry Inn and the Queen Ann Inn in Chatham) but I think the choices there are getting pricey.
Great advice above - or try The Cove in Orleans. Can%26#39;t beat the price and location. Easy access on foot to local Orleans restaurants, or hop in your car and hit the sites of Eastham, Wellfleet, and Provincetown. Clean and comfy.

Great ';Dirt Bomb'; cinnamon muffins at The Cottage Bakery around the corner from The Cove.
If you do not want to be stuck inside if bad weather arise, be sure to pack your raincoat and wellies - nothing beats a long walk on the beach in the rain.
Hope that helps!
Enjoy.
A few ideas for places to consider that aren%26#39;t B%26amp;Bs. Please realize, though, that I have never stayed in any of these spots....just know them from being in the area and think they look like good places to stay:
Skaket Beach Motel - Orleans
Governor Prence Motel - Orleans
Sea Pines Inn in Brewster....guess you could call it a B%26amp;B but it%26#39;s really a medium size inn so you would have more privacy.
I just checked the Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich on a weekend and it%26#39;s just below 150. a night. Its a very nice big inn (not a B%26amp;B) with a spa, nice pub and restaurant, and its in the center of a small town. If you stay there call the Dunbar Tea Shop for hours and head over there for lunch.
Sandwich has Heritage Plantation, a fabulous place to go, depending on when you go you might be able to catch the blooming of the Rhododendrons, they have 1000%26#39;s of them. Also on the grounds is a car museum, art museum, and much more.
Sandwich has a glass museum too, antiques, a beach with a boardwalk, the walk along the canal and some good restaurants. (and no I don%26#39;t live in Sandwich!! LOL). It%26#39;s very quaint and a bit quiet.
Falmouth is great too, a bigger town with more shopping and more traffic and not quite as quaint as Sandwich. Sort of depends on what your looking for!

Yes, Falmouth is ideal. See if you can get a room at the Inn on the Sound. I know you don%26#39;t like B%26amp;B%26#39;s, not many guys do unfortunately, this one is different. I think you%26#39;d like it here. Before Memorial Day, it%26#39;s considered the shoulder time right before the peak season starts up, you can get a good price for a room here, during the week, of course on weekends the price goes up with a lot of them, as you know. This Inn is located at 313 Grand Avenue in Falmouth. Check their site out to see what I mean:

Another place in Falmouth that you should find out about is the Seacrest Resort, their dining room is right on the ocean, it%26#39;s quite pretty. It%26#39;s not near the town center or anything like that, but it%26#39;s a great resort for their beach, it%26#39;s beautiful with the white sand %26amp; the resort has the outdoor %26amp; indoor pool etc...may be you can get a deal here before Memorial Day, you never know. You can get to Falmouth Heights or cruise around Falmouth for their many shops scattered here and there, when you see this resort though, you might not want to leave it, everything you need is right here:

Yet if you end up staying in Chatham instead, then one place that%26#39;s reasonable %26amp; in the last few years they got new owners, (Sean %26amp; Lori own it now %26amp; are doing an amazing job with it!) It%26#39;s called the Chatham Highlander Inn, it%26#39;s very clean %26amp; the grounds are impeccable. Yes, it%26#39;s a motel, but it%26#39;s in a great location for getting in to the town of Chatham with all their neat shops %26amp; restaurants that you%26#39;ll want to check out. You%26#39;d still have to drive in, but it%26#39;s not that far at all, you%26#39;ll see where it is and like this location along Rte 28. Read the first review right here on TA, it%26#39;s a friend of mine that wrote it up and it%26#39;s right on the money with the description of it, she describes it to a ';T';. I stayed there last summer myself and we liked it a lot for the convenience alone %26amp; it wasn%26#39;t bad a night to stay there at all.
Good luck %26amp; have a great time wherever you stay!
