Can some one help me?

We will be on a cruise and stop for one day in Boston.

I would like some help with transportation from port to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Mkt area. We would like to take public transportation NOT TAXI. Can you tell me the way to do that. By Bus or Subway? Where do go to get it and which one to take? Thanks

Where in Boston is your ship docking, Black Falcon Terminal? Best bet would be to use the T website I have pasted below.

Hi,

I%26#39;m assuming your ship will be docked at the Black Falcon terminal in South Boston. If so, you could take the Silver Line SL2 branch from there to South Station. The bus schedule says that it runs every 10 minutes during weekdays. If you wouldn%26#39;t mind a 15-20 minute or so walk along the waterfront (which is actually quite nice now that the Central Artery is down), you can walk to Quincy Market from there, along Atlantic Avenue.

I%26#39;d suggest walking if the weather is nice, because it%26#39;s just not really far enough to justify the time it will take to change trains, etc. However, if you need to, once you get to South Station, take any Red Line train towards Alewife, go two stops to Park St., follow signs to the Green Line towards Lechmere. Once on the Green Line platform, take any Green Line train to Government Center. Exit from the station, make a right, walk straight ahead, and you will see Faneuil Hall in front of you, at the bottom of a large staircase.

Realistically, I%26#39;d take a taxi if I were you. I don%26#39;t think it would be more than $15.

You can take the Silver line to South Station. From South Station it is probably easiest to walk the 15 minutes to Quincy Market via

the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone. Yes it is the Black Falcon Port.

Now my next question is how do I get from the Port to the Silver line SL2? Thnks

The Silver Line stops right next to the terminal on Black Falcon Ave.

Another vote for walking the whole way.

Just bear in mind it%26#39;s a long walk (I would guess 1.5 to 2 miles) through a rather ugly industrial area. I would spring $15 for a taxi or at least take the T Silver Line.

I believe you can walk most of the way along the Harbor Walk - which is a paved path along the waterfront.

So really, it isn%26#39;t that far of a walk through an industrial area - just stay close to the water and you%26#39;d be fine.

Check out the interactive map here and you can see you can walk all along the water from where the cruise ships dock.

So Beantownman has given you the directions if you really want to take the T, but my guess is you can walk faster than go from train to train to train.

To get a good idea of what you%26#39;re in for, go to the MBTA.com site, select subway , then choose the ';interactive street map'; which will overly the subway routes with the street map.

Also, if this is a port-of-call for a cruise ship, your cruise staff will know how to get you to Quincy Market... it has to be one of the most popular stops for them.

This is a long walk and I am always ready for one. If Faneuil Hall was the end destination, I would say go for it. Walking around Faneuil Hall is a walk in itself. Take the cab over and if you are up for it, walk back.
