This will be our second trip to Boston. Amazing city! The first time we visited we wanted to make sure we saw the Red Sox v.s. NY Yankees. Paid outrageous prices for the tickets ';on-line';. To guarantee tickets should we buy on-line or can you purchase them at the stadium for the face value of the ticket? Suggestions?

Last time I looked you could still purchase tickets for certain games (games are usually mid-week). You could maybe go that route and plan your trip around the day of game. Also, every once in a while there is a ticket drop where a certain number of tickets are held until several days before the game and then go on sale. If you live close and plan to drive that would be an option.
