Has anyone visited an inn or bed %26amp; breakfast that you remember as having a particularly memorable guest book? One where you get absorbed reading the entries, because they%26#39;re more interesting than the typical ';rooms were nice, we enjoyed our stay'; variety. I am doing a research project and am interested in finding inns whose guest books contain some real history/culture buried in their entries. If anyone has any recommendations, I%26#39;d be grateful! Thanks.
Interesting guest books
Interesting question. The Beachmere in Ogunquit, Maine had some touching entries from visitors.
Interesting guest books
Thanks! I%26#39;ll check it out.
The Swizzle Inn in Bermuda has the most interesting guest/visitor books I%26#39;ve ever seen in my life. In fact, they are all lined up on their mantel in one of the main rooms. The Swizzle Inn isn%26#39;t an Inn where you stay over though, it%26#39;s more of a unique pub/restaurant atmosphere with graffiti on the walls %26amp; their ceiling as well as hundreds upon thousands of business cards. There%26#39;s loads of rustic furniture and fixtures to check out all scattered here and there. The visitor/guest books date back to 1942 and are full of funny anecdotes about people%26#39;s visit to the Swizzle Inn.
I was there in 1973 %26amp; wrote in the book %26amp; years later went back again in the late 90%26#39;s and didn%26#39;t I find what I wrote in the 1973 book! It was pretty amazing to spot my handwriting like that %26amp; yes I wrote another message the 2nd time back there.
