Last minute plan for this weekend and need advice!!

Hi, We have just booked last minute flights to Boston, flying tomorrow night and leaving Sunday night. So we have 3 days and are planning on going straight to the Cape Code area. So I%26#39;m wondering what area you would recommend we stay? Ideally we would like somewhere near the coast, quaint pretty town, romantic, etc. I%26#39;ve read some of the forums and might also take a day trip to Nantucket or Martha%26#39;s Vineyard..if you could pick one, which one would you choose? Would really appreciate any tips you might have. Many many thanks.L

quaint, pretty, romantic: Falmouth, Chatham, Provincetown. (there are others....)

Towns with ferrys for daytrips to the Islands: Falmouth (Woodshole) and Hyannis. The Chatham service starts 5/24/09 or there-abouts.

The ferry service that%26#39;s closest to Chatham is The Freedom Line in Harwich Port. Freedom Line starts making high speed trips to Nantucket on 5/24. (check their website to confirm the date):

Hi, Thank you all for your advice. We had a great weekend. We stayed at the Carriage House Inn in Chatham, which was really good. I would highly recommend this guesthouse. They really do have everything organised and set up perfectly there. It is about a 15 minute walk down to the main street fyi. We went to Nantucket for a day. The weather was cloudy and rainy and most of the island is still closed up, ie Sconset etc. We were told that they will probably open up next weekend but I would suggest checking before you leave. We also went whale watching in Provincetown which was really enjoyable..would highly recommend this activity. Thanks again. L

I%26#39;m so glad you had a wonderful weekend and you enjoyed your stay! Where did you eat?

We ate in the impudent oyster (Chatham) on Friday night which was really delicious and excellent service and in the Squire (Chatham) on Saturday night, was nice but thought it was quite pricey for what you get.

Sounds great (and I agree with you about both restaurants).
