Hotels with easy train access to Wellesley

Hi-

I am looking for Hotels with easy train access to Wellesley. Staying in Wellesley is limited to the Alumni House or fighting the traffic of suburban Natick. I think it is just easier to stay in Boston? What do you think? Hotel recommendations especially Starwoods (sheraton, westin etc.) are appreciated.

Hi Gemma%26#39;s mum,

Wellesley College trip?

Hotels with easy train access to Wellesley

Most downtown Boston hotels are more or less convenient to South Station where Wellesley commuter service originates. The most convenient area to stay in would be Back Bay. Back Bay hotels are convenient to Back Bay Station where you can board Wellesley trains. There is a Westin (very convenient) and a Sheraton (less convenient) hotel in Back Bay.

I agree with wpb657 if your staying in Boston. The Westin Copley Place or the Sheraton are both within easy walking distance to Back Bay station for the commuter rail out to Wellesley. Both will cost a pretty penny to park your car if you have one, so consider that if you plan to stay in Boston. There%26#39;s Sheraton%26#39;s in Framingham and Needham which are both convienent for driving to Wellesley. They both tend to recieve very average reviews, but if your just looking for a basic place to stay with free parking near Wellesley, they can be an option.

If you have a car the traffic in Natick is definitely easier to navigate than Boston%26#39;s downtown traffic. But if you plan to get to there via the commuter rail to Wellesley (versus driving) this won%26#39;t be a problem. Just heed Will%26#39;s warning that the parking won%26#39;t be cheap.

There is a new hotel in Newton right next to the Riverside train station so its convenient to the green line and Boston, and also to the Wellesley Farm commuter rail!

If you want access to the train from Boston, you need to be near either South Station or Back Bay Station. South Station area hotels include the Intercontinental and Boston Harbor Hotel. You could also stay at the Westin by the Convention Center, but it%26#39;s kind of a lonely walk from there.

Back Bay Station is near Copley Square, so you%26#39;ve got loads of choices for hotels. And the added benefit of being a little closer to Wellesley.

You can check the train schedule on mbta.com, Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail.

Folks original post is from 2008.

Thats ok, it actually helped *me* out! Thanks, I%26#39;m planning a trip this summer and will be staying in Wellesley two nights and need access to the ';T';. This post is perfect, thanks for the help!

I do have one additional question. I looked up the Indigo hotel which is close to Riverside Station, so that looks like a great place to stay and be able to take the train into Boston. Is the Riverside ';T'; station also walkable to the Wellesley Farms commuter rail station as well?

Glad the post helped. Are you asking if you can walk from Indigo to Commuter Rail%26#39;s Wellesley Farms??? If so, it%26#39;s about 2 miles away...
